What is Ohana? "Ohana" is the Hawaiian word for family. (To translate words into Hawaiian, visit Mo'o and lolo's Cyber Hawaiian Dictionary Online). A family is defined in the dictionary as "a group of people related to one another by blood or marriage", we know that families are much more than this. Families are about togetherness, fun, good times, happy moments and very fond memories. Families are great things to have.

How does this apply to us? In our work we endeavour to create video games that are entertaining and fun for everyone in the family. We strongly believe that games do not have to be violent to be fun, and this is the point that we are proving in our games. So from our family to yours, here is to good times, happy moments and very fond memories. Did we mention already that families are great?

Who are we? The little island of Kauai (The oldest Hawaiian island), is where designer Joy Sha meets software developer Sam Rowlands, in the spring of 2005. After the thrill of the white waves, beautiful landscape, exotic temperature and cups of shave ice an idea is born for a small games company to be formed creating exciting and non-violent video games. In the fall of 2005, Sam joins Joy and together they created "Ohana Games" and aim to make exciting and non-violent video games for everyone.
Joy Sha has been working in the 3D industry since 1999, after obtaining a masters degree in 3D animation at Maharishi University of Management.
Sam Rowlands has been writing software since 1990, and is responsible for award winning products such as "net_clipper", "Easy Card" and "iWatermark".
